Where legal rules are discussed, Atlantic should prefer official statutes, regulations, court rules, agency materials and treaty texts. Platform policies should be linked to the platform’s own current documentation. Commentary should be identified as commentary.
Older articles should display their date and be reviewed when the law, platform practice or product changes.
Articles should not cite nonexistent cases, regulators, certifications, statistics or partnerships. Examples should be labelled hypothetical unless they are documented and authorized for publication.
A general educational statement should not be converted into a factual assertion about an identified person or company.
Material corrections should identify what changed and when. A correction should not erase the fact that the earlier version existed when that history is relevant.
Readers should have a clear route to report an error through the request center.
Content should use plain language, define technical terms and avoid assuming that U.S. rules apply everywhere. The French and English versions should express the same operational meaning even where exact legal terminology differs.
Links to official sources allow readers and counsel to verify the governing text.
