Editorial standards

Practical education should distinguish law, platform policy, operational practice and opinion

Atlantic’s insights are intended to help creators preserve records and understand the workflow. They are not individualized legal advice and should not be read as predicting the outcome of a specific dispute.

01

Source hierarchy

Where legal rules are discussed, Atlantic relies first on official statutes, regulations, court rules, agency materials and treaty texts. Platform policies are linked to the platform’s own current documentation. Commentary is identified as commentary.

Older articles should display their date and be reviewed when the law, platform practice or product changes.

02

No invented authority

Articles do not cite nonexistent cases, regulators, certifications, statistics or partnerships. Examples are labelled hypothetical unless they are documented and authorized for publication.

A general educational statement should not be converted into a factual assertion about an identified person or company.

03

Corrections policy

Material corrections should identify what changed and when. A correction should not erase the fact that the earlier version existed when that history is relevant.

Readers should have a clear route to report an error through the request center.

04

Accessible and international writing

Content uses plain language, defines technical terms and avoids assuming that U.S. rules apply everywhere. All five language versions (English, German, Spanish, Italian and French) express the same operational meaning even where exact legal terminology differs.

Links to official sources allow readers and counsel to verify the governing text.

Legal and institutional references

These links point to official or institutional sources. Their inclusion does not mean that every text applies to every matter.

Atlantic administers rights, evidence and case-resolution workflows under documented authority. Judicial remedies and compulsory measures are pursued through competent authorities and qualified counsel where applicable.
